Earthday Promotion Winner Announced |
In April ISC ran a special Earth Day promotion, offering a $1,000 cash prize to ISC's
favorite song entered on Sonicbids prior to Earth Day. ISC received a lot of great
entries, and it is our pleasure to announce that the winner is Jon Brooks of King City,
ON, Canada for his song "Small." Congratulations, Jon!
Jon Brooks
In Jon's words, "ultimately, the folk singer is trying to politicize love - to lobby for
compassion to be our principle representative in government office." His 2009 CD, Moth Nor
Rust, looked inward to all that neither moth nor rust can touch: love, hope, trust,
inspiration, justice, and faith. Moth Nor Rust reminds us how the song is a necessary and
moral means toward lifting humanity in the 21st century. Moth Nor Rust earned Jon his second
Canadian Folk Music Award nomination for Best Songwriter. Jon also made The Toronto Star's
annual list of Top 10 Artists To Watch In 2010 and is the 2010 Kerrville New Folk winner.
